Why I like it

The U.S. Bank Triple Cash Rewards Visa® Business Card has all the requirements for a great 0% APR card, and it’s one that I personally carry in my own wallet. You’ll get a 0% intro APR for 12 billing cycles, after which it will adjust to a relatively low variable APR currently as low as 17.99%.

What sets this card apart from others, and why I selected it as the best overall, is its lucrative rewards program and valuable ongoing benefits that you can use to save money and reduce the effective cost of your business expenses. These are also why it made our list of the best small business credit cards.

You see, this card allows you to earn up to 5% cash back on prepaid hotels and car rentals booked directly in the Travel Rewards Center. That’s an easily overlooked benefit, as most individuals will only see the card’s ability to earn 3% cash back on eligible purchases at gas and EV charging stations (for transactions of $200 or less), office supply stores, cell phone service providers, and restaurants. Other benefits include a $100 credit for recurring software subscription expenses such as FreshBooks or QuickBooks. And, you’ll get all of that for a $0 annual fee.

  • 5% cash back on prepaid hotels and car rentals booked directly in the Travel Rewards Center
  • 3% cash back at gas stations, office supply stores, and mobile phone service providers
  • 1% cash back on all other eligible purchases

  • $500 cash back after spending $4,500 within the first 150 days of account opening
  • Free online tool that provides instant access to reporting, allowing you to track and manage your business spending

Why I like it

In addition to a 12-month 0% introductory APR, another big reason why I like the Blue Business® Plus Credit Card from American Express is that purchases made with it earn points that can be redeemed for a wide range of items. Examples include gift cards, Pay with Points, statement credits, transferring points to travel partners, or booking travel directly with American Express at AmexTravel.com.

This flexibility in redemption options means you can get a lot of value out of your points. I personally carry this card, and I’ve seen redemption values around 2 cents per point. Considering this card allows you to earn 2x points per dollar on the first $50,000 worth of purchases each year, it could effectively be seen as a 4%+ earnings card depending on how you redeem your rewards. You can view redemption options and use the Amex rewards calculator to see some examples of how valuable your rewards can be worth.

  • 2x points per dollar on the first $50,000 worth of purchases each year, then 1x point per dollar after that

  • 15,000 Membership Rewards® points after spending $3,000 in the first three months of account membership
  • $0 annual fees

Why I like it

The American Express Blue Business Cash™ Card is similar to the Blue Business® Plus Credit Card from American Express. It also has a 0% introductory period for 12 months from the date of account opening. It’s also great for balance transfers, as the card has a low fee of $5 or 3% of the transfer amount (whichever is greater), something that helped earn it a spot on our list of the best balance transfer credit cards. However, one of the biggest differences is that instead of earning points, you’ll earn cash back. This cash back is automatically credited to your statement, eliminating the need for you to manually redeem or research redemption options.

Other notable items include the ability to spend over your credit limit through its Expanded Buying Power feature based on your credit use, credit history, payment behavior, and other financial factors. And, with American Express, it’s possible to apply to see if you’re approved, with no impact on your credit score. If you apply and are notified that you are approved, you can then choose whether to accept or decline the card offer. Your credit score will not be affected until you formally accept the card.

  • 2% cash back on the first $50,000 purchases per calendar year, then 1% cash back when the cap is reached

Why I like it

If you’re looking for a card with a low ongoing APR, the U.S. Bank Business Platinum Card will likely be your best bet. Once the 12-month 0% introductory APR ends, your card will carry a variable APR as low as 16.99%, based on current rates. For a credit card, that’s a highly competitive rate, which actually rivals some of the higher rates you might see on installment loans that typically have a reputation for being able to offer much lower interest rates.

This card also lets you cut back on expenses as it carries a $0 annual fee. With that said, one of the downsides of this card is that there are no ongoing rewards. If you’re looking to earn something for your purchases, whether it’s points or cash back, I recommend considering one of the other credit cards in this guide.

Why I like it

If you’re looking for a 0% APR card that can also provide incredible long-term benefits, look no further than the American Express® Business Gold Card. With this card, you’ll get a 0% intro APR for 6 months from the date of account opening on purchases eligible for Pay Over Time. Note, however, that the card does carry an annual fee of $375.

This annual fee can be well worth it depending on how you use the card. For example, the card offers the ability to earn 4x points on your top 2 eligible categories. You can also earn up to $395 in annual value, including a $240 credit at select business merchants like FedEx and GrubHub, as well as $155 in credits for a Walmart+ monthly membership.

  • 4x points on the first $150,000 in combined purchases on the top two business categories each calendar year. Qualifying business categories include:
    • Purchases at US media providers for advertising in select media (online, TV, radio)
    • US purchases from electronic goods retailers and software & cloud system providers
    • US purchases at restaurants (including takeout and delivery)
    • US purchases at gas stations
    • Transit purchases including trains, taxicabs, rideshare services, ferries, tolls, parking, buses, and subways
    • Monthly wireless telephone service charges made directly from a wireless telephone service provider in the US
  • 3x points on flights and prepaid hotels booked on amextravel.com
  • 1x points on all other eligible purchases

  • $0 foreign transaction fees
  • 100,000 Membership Rewards® points after spending $15,000 on eligible purchases within the first three months of opening an account

How I selected the best 0% APR business credit cards

When choosing the best 0% APR business credit cards, I first considered the length of the 0% APR period. I also looked at the fees and rewards offered as well as the cards’ additional features that may be valuable to business owners. Some cards extend the 0% APR offer to balance transfers, which may be beneficial for business owners who plan to consolidate their credit card debts.

Frequently asked questions (FAQs)

Yes, as long as you pay off your balance before the 0% APR period ends. For example, your business credit card offers zero-interest financing on purchases for 12 billing cycles, and you use it to purchase equipment for your business amounting to $50,000. You need to ensure that by the end of the 12th billing cycle, you have fully paid the $50,000. Otherwise, the remaining balance will be charged interest — the rate of which depends on the card’s ongoing APR.

You should use a 0% APR business credit card if you’re planning to make a large purchase because zero-interest financing for a certain period can help you save hundreds of dollars in interest. You can also use it to finance everyday purchases, and you won’t need to pay off your balance each month to avoid interest charges. In addition, no-interest business credit cards are also great if you plan to consolidate your existing debts from other cards — they can help you settle your balance interest-free.

Below are the advantages and disadvantages of getting a business credit card with a 0% APR period.

Bottom line

The best no-interest business credit cards should meet your business’s unique needs. Since 0% offers are temporary, consider making your biggest purchases soon after you’ve received your card so that you can benefit from both the 0% APR and any welcome rewards. Be mindful of the duration of the offer — once the introductory period ends, the balance will be charged with regular APR.
